While in Dubai last month we stopped by Mirdif City Centre – a shopping mall with lots of options and things to do 😉
Our main purpose of our visit was to try iFly Dubai 😉 which is basically a skydive simulator that gives you a feel of the actual experience with one-on-one instructions of how to use different body postures to control how you fly! Its a circular vertical wind tunnel with huge fan at the bottom! Anyways… as we were walking towards it, I snapped few pics here and there of the area! It is amazing for kids 😉 They have many attractions such as Little Explorer, Rock Climbing, Bowling, and Magic Planet!
And voila… there it is, iFly Dubai ready for our mini adventure 😛
As soon as you step inside you are greeted by their very friendly staff who kinda pushes you to go for the experience… Dillamina was a bit hesitant but she wanted to do it and Aish, our instructor was so excited and encouraged her (and all of us to go for it 😉 wohooo)
In the beginning you must sign an agreement and clearance form (read through it before you do) and then head to a class room for instructions to a watch a short video and learn more about the hand gestures to be used in the tunnel because you wont be able to hear your instructor PLUS you will be wearing ear plugs… then you are taken to the lockers! You will be provided with special shoes, gear, and ear plugs + goggles! The instructor will take you with your group but you get to go in the tunnel one by one… and we started with… ahem, truly yours! When he said who want to start I quickly raised my hand in a Monica-manner way LOL and it was so much fun! It gives you a rush and leaves you with lots of laughter and smile! We got to go in twice, the first time was pretty simple and basic… the second time you get to fly up higher with the instructor! WOHOOO! We were given certificates at the end and before we left we were approached by Mr. Thomas Gateff, their Operations Manager, whom we had with a quick chit-chat about the experience and all… very nice gentleman 😀
I noticed that in that area there are only few healthy snacks vendors… one for corn, another was a juice stand, and frozen yogurt place!
Reminded us of Pinkberry’s chairs
I did not get the chance to walk all around the mall, but I think there are other areas and restaurants… I spotted a couple of cafes… and there are lots of shops and boutiques too! So you can spend a whole day there – specially if you have kids, or fun adults like us, who want to have some new adventure and experience for a change 😉
