كان أبي يقرأ جريدة القبس و لفت انتباهه الموضوع في الصفحة الأخيرة من عدد الخميس ٢٢ يناير ٢٠١٢ – المهم أخذت الجريدة و قرأت نفس المقال و وقفت عند نفس الكلمة 
لم أفهم سبب التشبيه أو التسمية بي “أهل الكهف” كون هذي التسمية تذكرني بالفتيه المؤمنين الذين آووا إلى الكهف هربا من الكفار و ليش حاطها بين قوسين
شرايكم؟
المعني هنا الوقوف بالزمن و عدم مجارات الواقع لأن اهل الكهف أرادو شراء الطعام لهم بنقودهمم القديمة
I highly doubt it . a writer using such language rarely has that deep thought that you’re thinking .
he is talking about il m6aw3a ily nazleen intikhabat masr.
unfortunately alot of people today are taking swipes at muslim scholars. calling them backward w min a97ab ahl il kahf.. ma3ana hal muqarana matjooz.. w 7atn law jazet thats a compliment for the scholars and a dig against the people making the comparison.
واضح المقال كله نغزات قاعد يذم مذهب معين بس بغض النظر عن اراء الناس اهل الكهف الي يتكلم عنهم المصريين اختاروهم المفروض اقل شي يحترم قرارهم لأنهم ضحو بالكثير وهذا قاعد ابيتهم يتفلسف على عقول العلم.
اهل الكهف اللي في السورة كانو في قمة الرقي والحضارة، فهم لم يفجرون ولم يقتلون ، فعندما اختلفو مع قومهم اوو الا الكهف
(( ااذ اوا الفتية الا الكهف فقالو ربنا اتنا من لدنك رحمة وهيا لنا من امرنا رشد))
I think he meant cavemen, not sorat alkahaf story in quran
أحمد الصراف يدعي انه ليبرالي لكن الليبرالية العربية الي تعتبر الاسلاميين عدوها لمجرد انهم اسلاميين ولا يعرف ان مايدعي من ليبرالية تدعو للتعددية والتنوع
وواضح من منهجه قديما في الكتابة
ويقصد هنا من أهل الكهف هم الإخوان والسلفيين المشكلة أنه هؤلاء الناس لا تعرف أن الشعوب في العالم هي شعوب مسلمة فمن الطبيعي أن يكون الإسلام اختيارهم أو من يمثل الإسلام ولو كان عنده بعض الأخطاء
وفي النهاية أهل الكهف كان الله معهم بينما عدوهم هلك

I don’t think he means the “ahl alkahaf” mentioned fil Quran. He means to say “cave men” the way the term is used in English. When you use the term in Arabic it can be confused for a reference to the people mentioned in the Quran bas ana ashik tamaman ina hatha gasda.
hmmm I got it but maybe because I got where he’s coming from… He is not referring to Quraan’s ahl el kahf, but he rather meant “cave man” mentality hence the quotation marks because it is a metaphorical term rather than an actual reference. The writer obviously thinks in English or is affected by English writings, it shows from the part you shared in this cave man thing and also in the last words.. he used literal translation for the phrase “once and for all”.. as far as I know, the way he wrote it doesnt exist in Arabic.

I read the article and I thought the same thing…the writer obviously meant “cavemen mentality”, as in “rigid and backward thinking”…but the lousy literal translation of the english expression lead to this mistake…many writers think using clichés as fillers mean they are prominent and knowledgeable writers…when its quite the contrary, ESPECIALLY when a cliché is misused!!

و على فكرة يا إخوان..الكاتب أحمد الصراف رجل علماني لا له علاقة بالمذاهب و لا هم يحزنون و بالتالي فحتى لو طعن بتيار سياسي ديني يمثل مذهب مخالف له فهو يطعن به من منطلق كونه رجل علماني فقط…خلونا نطلع من هالنمط الضيق في التفكير و هالحموضة الطائفية المليقة جدا جدا
