كشك مبارك

في بداية هذا الإسبوع قررت أنا و صديقتي دانة إن نروح المباركية و كان كشك مبارك أول محطة لنا هناك

Earlier this week, my friend Dana and I had some work to do in Mubarakiya, Mubarak Kiosk was our first stop there

يعتبر كشك مبارك أحد معلم تاريخي في مدينة الكويت و كان مقر حكم الشيخ مبارك الصباح في بداية فترة حكمه للكويت. شيد الكشك عام ١٨٩٧.. أي بعد سنة من تولي الشيخ مبارك مقاليد الحكم في الكويت، و كشك باللهجة الكويتية يعني مبنى مربع الشكل ذو طابقين… الطابق السفلي يحتوي على محلات و الطابق العلوي يتكون من مجلس يمكن الوصول إليه عن طريق سلم خارجي

The kiosk is considered to be a historical milestone in Kuwait City and a destination for visitors and tourist to check out. It used to be, back in time, the headquarters for Sheikh Mubarak AlSabah at the beginning of his reign of Kuwait. It was built in 1897, a year after his took power of ruling Kuwait. Kiost in Kuwait dialect means a squared-shape building with two floors, the lower one for shops, and the upper one for the Amir’s council, which can be reached by an external ladder (picture below)

The National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature started a project to renovate the kiosk in mid 2010. The renovation included a restoration work on the three section of the kiosk; the ground floor, the oldest pharmacy in Kuwait owned by Abdulelah AlQinaie which opened back in 1920, the council itself which was used in plenary to hear and discuss different views with his people and citizens of Kuwait back then, and last section hold a small museum with information about the kiosk. The Kiosk was opened again to the public to visit under the patronage of Sheikh Sabah AlAhmed AlSabah on March 23rd 2011.

قام المجلس الوطني للثقافة و الفنون و الآداب بإعادة إستعمال الكشك في منتصف ٢٠١٠ و تم تجديده ليشمل أعمال ترميم على ثلاث أقسام ليضم الطابق الأرضي أقدم صيدلية بالكويت و هي صيدلية عبد الإله القناعي التي افتتحت عام ١٩٢٠ – أم القسم الثاني هو مجلس الشيخ مبارك الذي كان يستخدمه في جلساته العامة للاستماع إلى آراء و وجهات نظر و مشاكل المواطنين – و آخر قسم أقيم فيه متحف صغير لأهم معلومات هذا الكشك. تم إفتتاح الكشك بحضور أمير الكويت الشيخ صباح الأحمد الصباح في ٢٣ مارس عام ٢٠١١
