This is a totally random post! I was wondering… In social media; what does it take from someone (like a blogger or social media influencer/activist/famous) to give credit to another person when they post about something they saw or read about from them? It used to be a loving community!!! Now it’s like a competition, but not in a healthy way! Some bloggers/influencers still respect that code… so to speak!

طرا على بالي موضوع محيرني من زمان و قلت أكلمكم عنه بالبلوق. ليش في بعض من المدونين و المشاهير و المؤثرين بعالم التواصل الاجتماعي عندهم مشكلة في ذكر مصادر الأشياء اللي يتكلمون عنها؟ و خاصة إذا كان المصدر هو زميل لهم في عالم التواصل الاجتماعي؟ ما كنا بهذا الشكل في بداياتنا!!! الوضع ألحين أشبه بمنافسة شرسة

For example, there is a certain someone (that I won’t mention) who would copy most of my moves, places I visit, pictures I take, and even buy the same things that I buy… I (with a sad heart) had to block that person because there is a thin line between admiring what I do and copying my lifestyle and personality in details!

على سبيل المثال… في شخص (من غير ذكر أسماء و بستخدم صيغة الجمع لأني مابي أقول منو) من مستخدمي شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي بدوا يقلدون أسلوبي و نمط حياتي بشكل مزعج جدا! من صور إلى مطاعم و طريقة تصويرو وصف و حتى بمشترواتي من السوق! حسيت بإزعاج شديد خاصة إن المرحلة تعدت الأعجاب و بدت كأنها مراقبة لي و لتصرفاتي. اضطريت إني أعمل حظر أو بلوك لأني فعلا انزعجت

I think about that a lot and wonder… would mentioning other bloggers/influencers harm them in any way? Are they afraid that their followers will follow others and have a bigger number than theirs? What is it exactly! I honestly feel obligated to mention the source or inspiration! Or where I saw it first! Nothing is wrong with that at all.

وايد أفكر و أقول… ما هي أضرار ذكر أشخاص زملاء لكم بالمجال؟ يعني معقولة خايفين إن متابعينكم يتابعون غيركم؟ خايفين يزيد عدد المتابعين عند غيركم و يصير أكثر منكم؟ أنا شخصيا أحس فشلة إذا ما ذكرت المصدر! أحس من الواجب علي إني أقول شفت عند فلان أو فلانة… ترى ما فيها شي!!! عند الله سعة

So I am giving a shout-out for those who respect that code…

RazzaBlog: I just love her! She always give credit, and beyond… She would take pictures sometimes for me to post on my channels instead of hers because she believe they fit with my audience, and she would say “You don’t have to mention me”! Respect Sendes xox

AllAboutKaftan! Such a sweetheart! Dalal is sweet! Not only on social media, but in real life too! I was having my hair done at one of the salons, and my stylist asked “Do you know Dalal? She said she came here because you posted about us”! And not too long ago, I posted about something that she liked and ordered. When she talked about it on her Snapchat she asked her followers to check Ansam518 Instagram for details!

Nosa50: I met her through social media and we became friends and travelled together to Norway. She source her posts/info when needed. And she gives out shout-out to many useful accounts. She don’t see mentioning others as a threat or a problem

نوسة50: من الناس اللي تعرفت عليهم بالسوشال ميديا و صرنا ربع و سافرنا النرويج مع بعض! حسابها مميز و دايما تذكر مصادر و ناس و حسابات من غير أي مشكلة… و تعطي مقترحات لمتابعة أكاونتات مفيدة

Mark248am: On many occasions, when he post about anything… he’d give credit or source! Even when he post pictures that are not his, he will give photo credit to the owners! He is a very professional blogger in that sense

مارك248: من المدونين اللي أحس صج محترمين التدوين و محترف فيها! إذا دخلتوا أكاونته بتشوفون إن دايما يذكر مصادر معلوماته و صوره أو من وين عرف عن شي معين

I am sure there are more… and I will update this post as I go, but it was just a random thought (or maybe a rant?)

أنا متأكدة إن في غيرهم وايد بس كتبت الأسماء اللي طرت على بالي و أكيد بحدث البوست إذا ذكرتهم!

You know what’s worse than those individuals? Bigger companies who do not respect that! It’s insane how they wont give credit or anything! Maybe I’ll talk about it in another post
