Dominique Ansel Bakery in London was on our “To Go” list mainly to try the Cronut, the croissant-doughnut hybrid baby invented by NYC Pastry Chef himself; Dominique Ansel
مخبز دومينيك أنسيل كان من الأماكن اللي كانت عالـ “لستة” عندنا لزيارتها بـ لندن. هذا الشيف هو اللي قدم فكرة الـ كرونت
It looks like a doughnut with with a flakey croissant dough (and usually a creamy filling)
الكرونت عبارة عن كرواسون متنكر بشكل دونت
Due to the fact that everyone wants to try THE Dominique Ansel Cronut, they created a different waiting line (queue) for it, with a maximum purchase per person of two pieces only
الكل في لندن كان مشتط يبي يجرب الكرونت الشهيرة من دومينيك و لهذا السبب خصصوا طابور انتظار خاص للزبائن المتعنين لها و كل زبون له إن يشتري قطعتين كحد أقصى عشان ما يخلصون بسرعة
First time we went they it was in the afternoon, and they were sold out! So might as well snap few pics here and there of their other baked yummies
أول مرة مرينا المخبز كانت الساعة تقريبا 5 العصر و مخلصين كل الكرونت… قلت يالله أصور كم شغلة و نرجع يوم ثاني
And instead we went there again for breakfast (and cronut) one early morning!
قلنا ليش ما نيي نتريق الصبح… منها يكون الوقت مبكر و منها نجرب كرونت دومينيك الشهيرة
For breakfast I ordered “Perfect Little Egg” made of steamed fluffy farm eggs, shallots, and herbs with a bit of Gruyere cheese, and served in brioche bun
طلبنا ساندويش البيض… مخفوق و خفيف مع البصل و الأعشاب و عليه جبنة غرويير و يقدم بخبز البريوش
A very basic egg sandwich that I didn’t like much! Felt like airplane sandwich!
كلش ما يازت لي! حسيت كأنها الساندويشات اللي يقدمونها عالرحلات بالطيارة! أبدا مو ذوقي
And the moment of truth… Salted Butterscotch and Cocoa Nib Cronut!
و أخيرا طلبنا الكرونت و كانت بنكهة البترسكوتش المملح مع كاكاو نقي من غير أي إضافات
I ordered it with Flat White
طلبت معاها فلات وايت
Bite into that…. hmmm
و نجرب
Let me tell you this, I am not a big fan of donuts, croissants, or cronuts! But I do crave’em from time to time… and I cant just go to London and not try THE original cronut! It was good but not to the point where I’d wait in line for it! I’m glad we went early in the day and didn’t have to wait in line… but don’t get me wrong, I am glad I got to try it, but as I said: It’s not my kind of treat.
ما هي سيئة و لكن ما فهمت ليش عليها ضجة… يمكن لأني مو زود مع الكرواسون و لا الدونت بس أشتهيهم بين فترة و الثانية! و أنا الصراحة رحت لأن ما يصير أطب لندن و ما أجرب الكرونت من مكان المبتكر نفسه فكانت فرصة! حلو إني جربتها بس ما راح أقول لكم إنها ألذ شي بالدنيا و تسوى العنوة و النطرة

We went again to the bakery to try the cookie shots with vanilla milk!
رحنا مرة ثانية نبي نجرب الكوكي شوت مع حليب الفانيلا
Such a treat 😉 That’s more of my taste!

We enjoyed those shots so much in the cold October weather! Now that’s something I’d recommend you try there. My only problem was enjoying the cookie cup itself… not that easy! Its quite rich so you can have it by itself with nothing on the side
الجو بأكتوبر بارد و يت بوقتها… مع الجو البارد! عيبها إنها ثقيلة! يعني ما ينطلب معاها شي و الكوكي حوسة عشان تنوكل

Now wait a minute… I am so gonna try this Frozen S’more next time! A Tahitian vanilla ice cream core covered with crispy chocolate feuilletine and wrapped in honey marshmallow, then torched and served on a wood stick! I mean what’s not to like
ضروري لي زيارة أخيرة قبل ما أرجع الكويت عشان أجرب السمور البارد! حشوته آيس كريم فانيلا تاهيتي مغطى بكاكاو مقرمش و مغلف بمارشمالو بالعسل مشوي عاللهب! يعني شقول – يا رباااه
I went again to the bakery with my nephew just to try those S’mores and it was totally worth it! Well we started healthy
رحت للمرة الثالثة مع ولد إختي و هذا النوع من الحلو اللي صج أقدر أقول عنه يسوى العنوة
My nephew ordered the Avocado Toast which was delicious! Avocado spread on a toast with ricotta cheese and pickled relishes! So good
صالح طلب توست مع الأفوكادو و جبنة الريكوتا – شي لذيذ و فريش
I had an open face sandwich made with cheese and all kinds of fresh tomatoes in all colors! The avocado toast was yummier though! Good choice Saleh
أنا أخذت لي ساندويش جبن مع أنواع من الطماط الملون… اختيار صالح يفوز علي

و ياه وقتها… مع قهوة سودة
Now that was yummier (yummiest in my opinion) and the most memorable at the Bakery! This I will be back for it for sure (and the flower marshmallow-y hot chocolate I saw on their instagram)
برأيي هذا ألذ شي جربته عندهم و عادي أرجع المخبز في زيارات مستقبلية لـ لندن عشان… شي ما صار
The bakery’s atmosphere is really nice. The staff are awesome! They go around with mini bites to try for those waiting in line to make up for the long wait. The cronut… in my opinion, too much hype! I’d highly recommend the Frozen S’mores! From the core to the crispy outer layer, perfect!
المهم… الجو العام مريح و المكان حلو. الموظفين حليوين و بالهم طويل مع التصوير و كانوا يوزعون قطع صغيرة من أطباقهم للناس اللي ناطرة بالطابور كنوع من الامتنان و الاعتذار بنفس الوقت. الكرونت بالنسبة لي ماخذة أكبر من حجمها… أنا شخصيا حبيت السمور بالآيس كريم اللذيذ
